Everyone loses between 50 and 100 hairs per day. The average life span of an individual hair is 3 to 7 years. Ninety percent of the hairs on your head are actively growing; the other 10 percent are resting. The resting stage lasts between 2 and 6 months, after which the hairs fall out.

The hair loss community is a place for reading the latest happenings and news on hair loss from around the blogosphere and beyond. It is also a place to share your own hair loss story or opinion on a service or product. Our goal is to unite hair loss sufferers so that we can provide support, and seek out helpful information from one another.
